What Makes Us Different
A lot of treatment centers say the right things. We're less interested in saying them and more interested in doing them — every day, with every person who walks through our doors.
We start by seeing you clearly — not your worst moment, but where you actually are right now. No sugarcoating. No judgment. Just the truth, delivered with respect.
Licensed clinicians and medical staff are involved at every level of care. You are never just a bed number — someone who knows your name and your case is watching over your progress.
Addiction rarely shows up alone. When anxiety, depression, PTSD, or trauma are part of the picture, we treat all of it — because ignoring what's underneath is how people relapse.
CBT, DBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Therapy — these are the tools we use every day, because they actually work.
If someone you love is in treatment here, you are not on the outside. We involve families intentionally — because loved ones often carry just as much pain.
Mindfulness, fitness, life skills, meditation — woven into daily care. Recovery is about rebuilding a life worth living, tending to the whole person.
From the first day of detox to months of aftercare, you won't be handed off and forgotten. Our continuum of care follows you through every transition.
Accountability is a core value here — for our staff as much as for our clients. We don't abandon people mid-journey. We stay in it with you, even when it's hard.
Our Promise
If you're the one struggling: you don't have to have everything figured out before you call. You don't have to be at rock bottom. You don't have to be certain you're ready. You just have to be willing to try — and we'll meet you exactly where you are.
If you're a family member: you already know what it feels like to watch someone you love disappear into addiction. You've tried everything. You're exhausted, maybe angry, maybe both. That's completely valid. And you need to know this: calling for someone else is an act of love, not betrayal. We'll walk you through every option.
Tenacity is one of our core values. We don't quit on people — and we don't let them quit on themselves.

Comprehensive detox and residential treatment for alcohol dependence, including medically supervised withdrawal and behavioral therapy.
Evidence-based care for opioid use disorder — heroin, fentanyl, prescription opioids — with clinical support at every level.
Treatment for cocaine, methamphetamine, and prescription stimulant misuse, with a focus on behavioral health and relapse prevention.
Medically supervised detox and structured therapy for benzo dependency — one of the most complex withdrawal processes we safely manage.
Targeted support for those struggling with cannabis dependence, including dual diagnosis evaluation for underlying anxiety and mood disorders.
Individualized care for misuse of prescription medications beyond opioids and benzos, including sleep aids and muscle relaxants.
Our licensed clinical team evaluates and treats co-occurring mental health conditions alongside substance use disorders — because true recovery requires treating the whole person.

Coverage
We work with most major insurance carriers to make treatment accessible. Use our online form or call us to verify your benefits at no cost — and with no obligation to commit.
Getting Started
Most people who call us are admitted within 24 hours. The first step is almost always the hardest one — and it's just a phone call.
Step 01
That's genuinely all we're asking. Call (480) 264-8938 — anytime, day or night. A real person answers. You don't need to have the right words. You don't need to be certain. You just need to pick up the phone.
Step 02
While you're on the phone with us, we run an instant benefits check through our billing partner. No forms to fill out alone, no confusing back-and-forth. We find out what your plan covers and we tell you the truth — all of it.
Step 03
A licensed clinician does a full assessment — your history, your goals, what's actually going on beneath the surface. From there, we build a treatment plan around you specifically. Not a template. Not a standard protocol. You.
Not ready to call yet? That's okay too.
Submit the form above and we'll reach out — on your timeline, with zero pressure.

Real Questions, Real Answers
No talking points. No corporate non-answers. Just honest responses to the questions people are actually afraid to ask.
Yes — and we take that fear seriously. Medical detox is one of the most important things we do, and we don't rush it or minimize it. Dr. Heise and our nursing team monitor you continuously throughout withdrawal. You won't be alone in a room wondering if what you're feeling is normal. Someone will be checking on you, adjusting your protocol, and managing your comfort at every step. Withdrawal is hard — we're not going to lie to you about that — but you'll be safe, and you won't be going through it alone.
That's one of the most honest questions someone can ask, and it deserves an honest answer. A lot of programs treat the substance and ignore everything underneath it — the trauma, the anxiety, the patterns of thinking that were driving the use in the first place. We treat dual diagnosis as a core part of care, not an afterthought. We also don't discharge you and disappear. The aftercare support, alumni check-ins, and continuing care planning are built into what we do — because we know recovery doesn't end at discharge.
This is a voluntary program. You are not locked in. But here's what we've seen: the moment people want to leave is usually the moment the work is starting to do something. Our clinical team will always have an honest conversation with you about where you are, what's coming up, and what leaving at that stage might mean for your recovery. We won't hold you here against your will — but we will ask you to talk to us before you go.
No. Under HIPAA, your treatment is completely confidential — your employer has no right to that information and we don't share it. If you need to take time off, you may be eligible for FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), which protects your job while you're in treatment without requiring you to disclose the specific reason. We've helped many people navigate this. Just bring it up when you call and we'll walk you through your options.
No. Full stop. One of our core values is seeing people clearly — not through the lens of their worst moments, but as who they actually are. The staff at Buena Vista didn't choose this field to judge anyone. They chose it because they believe in people's capacity to change. Whatever brought you here, you won't be made to feel ashamed of it. What happened before you walked through our doors stays where it belongs — in the past.
This might be the hardest position there is — loving someone who isn't ready yet. The first thing to know is that you are not helpless. You can call us and talk through intervention options, boundary-setting, and what to do when (not if) they become ready. We also want to remind you: taking care of yourself right now is not selfish. It's what allows you to still be there when they are ready. Call us — this conversation is for families too.
You're not going dark. Technology access is available every day from 4 PM to 10 PM — so you can call your kids, text your partner, check in with the things that matter. That intentional structure exists because the therapeutic day needs focus, not because we think you need to be punished or isolated. Most people find they actually appreciate the boundary after a few days — it turns out having hours where the world isn't pulling at you feels less like restriction and more like relief.
Call us before you assume the answer is no. We're in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, and UnitedHealthcare, and we also accept Medicaid. Our billing team runs an instant verification and gives you a straight answer about what's covered. If there's a gap, we'll talk through it honestly — including cash pay options and what those look like. We'd rather have that conversation with you now than have cost be the reason you didn't get help.
Takes less than a minute. No commitment required.
