What Makes Us Different

Treatment Built on Truth, Structure & Integrity

A lot of treatment centers say the right things. We're less interested in saying them and more interested in doing them — every day, with every person who walks through our doors.

Honest
Assessment

We start by seeing you clearly — not your worst moment, but where you actually are right now. No sugarcoating. No judgment. Just the truth, delivered with respect.

Clinical Supervision
Every Day

Licensed clinicians and medical staff are involved at every level of care. You are never just a bed number — someone who knows your name and your case is watching over your progress.

Dual
Diagnosis Care

Addiction rarely shows up alone. When anxiety, depression, PTSD, or trauma are part of the picture, we treat all of it — because ignoring what's underneath is how people relapse.

Evidence-Based
Therapies

CBT, DBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Therapy — these are the tools we use every day, because they actually work.

Family Is
Part of Recovery

If someone you love is in treatment here, you are not on the outside. We involve families intentionally — because loved ones often carry just as much pain.

Holistic
Programming

Mindfulness, fitness, life skills, meditation — woven into daily care. Recovery is about rebuilding a life worth living, tending to the whole person.

A Full
Path Forward

From the first day of detox to months of aftercare, you won't be handed off and forgotten. Our continuum of care follows you through every transition.

We Finish
What We Start

Accountability is a core value here — for our staff as much as for our clients. We don't abandon people mid-journey. We stay in it with you, even when it's hard.

Our Promise

We Don't Give Up On People

If you're the one struggling: you don't have to have everything figured out before you call. You don't have to be at rock bottom. You don't have to be certain you're ready. You just have to be willing to try — and we'll meet you exactly where you are.

If you're a family member: you already know what it feels like to watch someone you love disappear into addiction. You've tried everything. You're exhausted, maybe angry, maybe both. That's completely valid. And you need to know this: calling for someone else is an act of love, not betrayal. We'll walk you through every option.

Tenacity is one of our core values. We don't quit on people — and we don't let them quit on themselves.

Getting Started

Getting Connected Is Simpler Than You Think

Most people who call us are admitted within 24 hours. The first step is almost always the hardest one — and it's just a phone call.

Step 01

Make One Call

That's genuinely all we're asking. Call (480) 264-8938 — anytime, day or night. A real person answers. You don't need to have the right words. You don't need to be certain. You just need to pick up the phone.

Step 02

We Handle the Insurance

While you're on the phone with us, we run an instant benefits check through our billing partner. No forms to fill out alone, no confusing back-and-forth. We find out what your plan covers and we tell you the truth — all of it.

Step 03

Meet Your Clinical Team

A licensed clinician does a full assessment — your history, your goals, what's actually going on beneath the surface. From there, we build a treatment plan around you specifically. Not a template. Not a standard protocol. You.

Not ready to call yet? That's okay too.

Submit the form above and we'll reach out — on your timeline, with zero pressure.

"Buena Vista was great for me. Comfortable, good groups, great staff. If I need to return I know they are there. And I'd recommend this place to anyone in need of recovery from addiction. Lolo at the front is always warm and welcoming, the nurses are caring and always there to help! Can't forget the BHTs always asking what they can do to help in whatever way they can."

"I cannot express enough gratitude for the support I received from Buena Vista Recovery. Katy went above and beyond in helping me navigate my court case and making pre-trial calls, ensuring I felt supported and informed every step of the way. Her dedication was truly remarkable. Mr Bacon and the entire staff played a pivotal role in changing my life for the better. Their compassion, understanding, and commitment to my recovery made all the difference. I highly recommend Buena Vista Recovery to anyone seeking help and transformation. Thank you all for everything!"

"So incredibly grateful for everyone that has been there for me throughout my recovery journey. I really miss residential lol. Not only were the staff there absolutely phenomenal and amazingly informed, but most really enjoyed what they were doing. The kitchen and food was five star most days. On top of all that, I got to have my own room and bathroom, queen size bed, vaulted ceilings, and flat screen tv. But, I am extremely grateful for the monthly Alumni events that we have. It's one of the highlights of my month every single time. Thank you Buena Vista. If I could give more stars, I so would."

"I'm so grateful for this place 💯!!! I learned so much about myself and got some great tools and the help I need. I'm out of inpatient but I'm still going there for services. I have all the love for the faculty and that place in general. They are amazing. Anyone that has anything bad to say about Buena Vista was either there for the wrong reasons or weren't ready. Thank you guys all the way around"

"I just want to say thank you to Buena Vista and the staff that work there. These people care. I can personally tell the difference between someone who just comes in for a paycheck and someone who has unconditional love and concern for every individual that they work with. From detox to out patient the staff go above and beyond to get their patients needs met! A special thanks to my case manager Katy for believing in me when I didn't even believe in myself. She met with me every day she worked and set me up for success! I'm on the next chapter of my life not only clean but finally happy. Thank you Katy!! And thank you Buena Vista. I recommend anybody needing help to at least check in for detox. Much love to you all"

Real Questions, Real Answers

The Things People Actually Want to Know

No talking points. No corporate non-answers. Just honest responses to the questions people are actually afraid to ask.

I'm terrified of going through withdrawal. Will I actually be okay?+

Yes — and we take that fear seriously. Medical detox is one of the most important things we do, and we don't rush it or minimize it. Dr. Heise and our nursing team monitor you continuously throughout withdrawal. You won't be alone in a room wondering if what you're feeling is normal. Someone will be checking on you, adjusting your protocol, and managing your comfort at every step. Withdrawal is hard — we're not going to lie to you about that — but you'll be safe, and you won't be going through it alone.

I've tried to get sober before and it didn't stick. Why would this time be any different?+

That's one of the most honest questions someone can ask, and it deserves an honest answer. A lot of programs treat the substance and ignore everything underneath it — the trauma, the anxiety, the patterns of thinking that were driving the use in the first place. We treat dual diagnosis as a core part of care, not an afterthought. We also don't discharge you and disappear. The aftercare support, alumni check-ins, and continuing care planning are built into what we do — because we know recovery doesn't end at discharge.

What if I check in and then change my mind? Can I just leave?+

This is a voluntary program. You are not locked in. But here's what we've seen: the moment people want to leave is usually the moment the work is starting to do something. Our clinical team will always have an honest conversation with you about where you are, what's coming up, and what leaving at that stage might mean for your recovery. We won't hold you here against your will — but we will ask you to talk to us before you go.

I can't stop worrying about my job. Do I have to tell my employer where I'm going?+

No. Under HIPAA, your treatment is completely confidential — your employer has no right to that information and we don't share it. If you need to take time off, you may be eligible for FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), which protects your job while you're in treatment without requiring you to disclose the specific reason. We've helped many people navigate this. Just bring it up when you call and we'll walk you through your options.

Will people here judge me for how bad things got?+

No. Full stop. One of our core values is seeing people clearly — not through the lens of their worst moments, but as who they actually are. The staff at Buena Vista didn't choose this field to judge anyone. They chose it because they believe in people's capacity to change. Whatever brought you here, you won't be made to feel ashamed of it. What happened before you walked through our doors stays where it belongs — in the past.

My loved one refuses to get help. What do I do?+

This might be the hardest position there is — loving someone who isn't ready yet. The first thing to know is that you are not helpless. You can call us and talk through intervention options, boundary-setting, and what to do when (not if) they become ready. We also want to remind you: taking care of yourself right now is not selfish. It's what allows you to still be there when they are ready. Call us — this conversation is for families too.

I'm worried about my phone and being cut off from everything.+

You're not going dark. Technology access is available every day from 4 PM to 10 PM — so you can call your kids, text your partner, check in with the things that matter. That intentional structure exists because the therapeutic day needs focus, not because we think you need to be punished or isolated. Most people find they actually appreciate the boundary after a few days — it turns out having hours where the world isn't pulling at you feels less like restriction and more like relief.

What if my insurance barely covers this — or I don't have great coverage?+

Call us before you assume the answer is no. We're in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, and UnitedHealthcare, and we also accept Medicaid. Our billing team runs an instant verification and gives you a straight answer about what's covered. If there's a gap, we'll talk through it honestly — including cash pay options and what those look like. We'd rather have that conversation with you now than have cost be the reason you didn't get help.
